The Benefits of Cosmetic Dentistry Treatments in Winnipeg

Cosmetic dentistry in Winnipeg

Cosmetic dentistry can do a lot more for your smile than many people are aware of. While it does include ever-popular teeth whitening treatments, cosmetic dentistry can also improve the look and health of a smile with treatments such as Invisalign, implants, veneers, fillings, and more. Cosmetic dentistry continues to grow in popularity throughout Manitoba, and for some very good reasons.

The family dentists at Winnipeg’s Garden City Dental Centre have seen our patients benefit in many ways from cosmetic dentistry procedures, including:

Improved self-confidence

It is often said that the majority of human communication is done through body language rather than words, and the smile is a hugely important component of how body language is read and perceived. When you are afraid to smile because of cosmetic issues with your teeth, it can have a negative impact on your self-confidence.

Correcting cosmetic problems with the proper cosmetic dentistry procedures can help you learn to smile without any hesitation. You’ll be proud to show off your white and bright smile to the world and the rest of your body language will become more confident and self-assured as a result. When you don’t have to worry about what your smile looks like, you’ll truly be able to let your personality shine.

Improved ability to speak and chew

Far from being purely cosmetic, cosmetic dentistry can actually have a very real impact on the function of your teeth and other facial structures. Teeth that are crooked, damaged, or have gaps between them can impact your speaking and chewing ability. Getting those problems corrected by trained and skilled dentists in Winnipeg will help you get back to communicating clearly and eating all of your favorite foods again.

Improved oral and overall health

Teeth that are properly aligned, undamaged, and free of gaps are much less susceptible to oral health problems. This is because they are easier to brush and floss, and therefore less likely to harbor bacteria that can cause cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease.

Furthermore, in recent years there has been a slew of research showing the close connection between oral and overall health. A healthy mouth is often an indicator of good overall health, while oral health conditions such as gum disease can actually contribute to certain inflammatory conditions such as cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease.
